A health savings account in addition to paying off the medical expenses also works as a source of tax saving for the account holder. The payments that go towards fulfilling the medical expenses can give the account holder a one hundred percent tax deduction and hence people get attracted to the health savings account. Even if the funds of the health savings accounts are not used to their fullest for the medical expenses, the interest on it keeps on growing and hence, it offers great financial benefits for the account holder. Thus, the health savings account comes in handy during retirement for most of the individuals. A health savings account can be flexible and the account holder has the freedom to choose the physician that they want, which is not possible in other medical plans.
